Century reveals synopsis for Reese Witherspoon and Harlan Coben's new novel
Century has announced the cover and synopsis for Gone Before Goodbye, the "highly collaborative" thriller from actor and producer Reese Witherspoon and Harlan Coben.
Publishing on 23rd October 2025, Gone Before Goodbye tells the "unforgettable" story of Maggie McCabe, an army combat surgeon who, after a series of tragedies, loses her medical licence. When a former colleague, a plastic surgeon, offers her a job, she accepts.

The synopsis continues: "Desperate, and one of the few surgeons in the world skilled enough to take this job, Maggie enters his realm of unspeakable opulence and fulfils her end of the agreement. But when the patient suddenly disappears while still under her care, Maggie must become a fugitive herself – or she will be the next one…"
Gone Before Goodbye is Witherspoon’s debut novel and is based upon her idea. According to the publisher, both authors have been developing the concept and characters over "many months of collaboration".
