Boldwood is expanding, with Hannah Sawyer joining from Headline, 13 new authors and a Polish partnership.
Sawyer will join as senior marketing manager in a newly created role. Currently group digital marketing manager at Headline, she will bring more focus to Boldwood’s growing genre communities and social media audiences. She said: “I’m beyond excited to be joining the team at Boldwood, a company I’ve long admired for their dynamism and innovation. I can’t wait to introduce even more readers to their brilliant list of books and authors.”
Newly signed thriller novelists Patricia Dixon, AJ Carter, Michael Ridpath, DE White and DC Alden take the total author list to 217. Historical fiction authors – Kay Brellend, Liz Harris, Maggie Sullivan and Glynis Peters – have also joined alongside romance writers Ella Cook, Heidi Stephens and Lucy Mitchell, while “Kirsty Ferry will bring her own brand of Gothic witchy time-slip fiction to the list” , Boldwood said.

All authors have been contracted on multi-book deals and will be published in every format simultaneously in all English-language territories. Boldwood is also adding to its five existing European translation partners with an additional partnership with the preeminent commercial Polish publisher Dressler Dublin – to publish 20 titles a year from across the Boldwood catalogue and in all formats. The deal was brokered by translation rights agent Vicki Satlow.
Amanda Ridout, founder and chief executive officer, commented: “It is thrilling to finish another hugely exciting Boldwood year by welcoming such a stellar list of authors to our family, reflecting the breadth of our commercial offering. As we approach the National Year of Reading, we really can offer stories in every format to delight every reader. And – with our sixth translation partnership – to an increasing number of readers outside the English speaking world.”
