One More Chapter, an independent bookshop in Radcliffe-on-Trent, Nottinghamshire, has been named Newcomer of the Year for 2026 by National Book Tokens.
The shop offers a curated range of books for all ages, from children’s and young adult titles to fiction, fantasy and non-fiction. It also hosts book clubs, author talks, children’s activities and creative workshops, championing local authors, artists and charities.
National Book Tokens are the only gift cards that can be bought and spent in bookshops across the UK and Ireland. The award is given to new bookshops based on their first full year of National Book Tokens sales and redemptions.
"Winning National Book Tokens Newcomer Bookshop of the Year feels truly overwhelming in the best possible way," said owner Charlotte King. "I feel incredibly blessed to be recognised, not just personally, but for the community that has grown around One More Chapter. This shop exists because of the readers, families, authors and supporters who show up every day, and this award belongs to them as much as it does to me."
Lisa Bywater, head of marketing at National Book Tokens, added: "Our Newcomer of the Year award celebrates independent bookshops that show, from the very beginning, just how powerful and important these spaces can be – and One More Chapter does exactly that. From carefully curated book selections to a packed programme of events, Charlotte and her team capture the joy of bookselling at its best. The shop’s strong early engagement with customers, illustrated by impressive National Book Tokens sales and redemptions, reflects a genuine commitment to helping readers discover their next perfect read."
