The Folio Society has released the first-ever illustrated edition of Becky Chambers’ "ground-breaking" science fiction debut The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet, originally published by Hodder & Stoughton in 2015.
The print run will be limited to 750 hand-numbered and signed copies with illustrations from Zoë van Dijk, a printed cloth binding, artist-designed endpapers and "neon-soaked" artworks, including an exclusive print. The presentation box will also be decorated with a field of stars and spacecraft.
The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet was initially funded by a Kickstarter campaign before becoming traditionally published and is now part of a four-book series which has won the Hugo Award and the Prix Julia Verlanger Award.
Chambers said: "I know it’s the nature of promotional materials to be hyperbolic, so I need you to understand – I’m being hand-on-a-stack-of-stardust honest here. These illustrations look like the inside of my own head."
The Folio Society limited edition can be bought on their website for £295.
