HarperCollins has made two promotions within its marketing team: Hannah O'Brien has been promoted to marketing director at HarperFiction and Avon, and Sarah Shea has been promoted to head of marketing for HarperFiction.
Over the past two years O’Brien, formerly marketing director for fiction, has overseen campaigns from HarperFiction’s marketing team including Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman, Behind Her Eyes by Sarah Pinborough, and The Woman in the Window by A J Finn. Her role is now being expanded to incorporate marketing in two other key areas of the business – Avon, where she will assume the role of marketing director for the division, and International, across which O’Brien will take on cross-divisional responsibility as marketing liaison between the HarperFiction, Avon, and HarperNonFiction divisions, and HarperCollins ANZ.
Kate Elton, executive publisher for HarperFiction, HarperNonFiction and Avon, said: “Hannah is a joy to work with and I'm hugely excited to see her now bring her dynamism and passion to the Avon division, and our international publishing. Hannah's experience working on HarperFiction’s brand authors will add an incremental layer of expertise to the innovative and entrepreneurial Avon team, as well as ensuring we deliver best-in-class publications on both sides of the world.”
Adam Humphrey, marketing communications director for HarperFiction and HarperNonFiction, said: “Hannah is an exceptional person to work with. She’s made a huge difference to the Fiction team since she assumed her role as marketing director and it’s fitting that she will now be able to expand her role further across these two exciting areas.”
Shea is promoted from senior marketing manager to head of marketing for HarperFiction. Since joining the HarperFiction marketing team from Bloomsbury last year, Shea has worked on campaigns for Karin Slaughter and Fern Britton and debut releases such as Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine and The Binding.
HarperCollins is currently recruiting for a marketing manager for HarperFiction.
