Rising Stars

The Bookseller's Rising Stars is an annual list of the book industry’s up and comers.

The list comprises of forward-thinking individuals from all sectors of the trade whose actions have caught the eye and who have been singled out as possible leaders of the future. The list features those who are relatively early in their careers, or others who are more further along who may have changed their roles in order revitalise a company or part of the industry.

A number of previous honorees have gone on to become head of houses, run imprints, have huge influence in their sectors or launch their own companies, such as now Collins Learning m.d. Alex Beecroft (Rising Stars class of 2013), Dialogue Books publisher Sharmaine Lovegrove (2017), Waterstones children's book buyer Florentyna Martin (2017) and Magic Cat co-founders Jenny Broom (2015) and Rachel Williams (2013).

Since 2014, a "Shooting Star" is singled out—a person the judges feel achieved just that little bit more than the others on the list.
