Lauren Whelan, non-fiction publisher at Transworld, has acquired Let Your Body Do the Work by Anette Sams, former director at Novo Nordisk, the pharmaceutical company behind Wegovy and Ozempic.
Whelan acquired UK and Commonwealth rights from PRH US (Ten Speed Press). The book will be published on 25th June 2026 on Transworld’s Torva imprint.
Let Your Body Do the Work is “a groundbreaking handbook for activating your body’s naturally occurring weight-loss hormones without relying on medication”, Transworld said. It is “already a major bestseller in Denmark, with eight translation deals”, according to the publisher.
The synopsis reads: “For more than 20 years, Anette Sams has worked as a pharmaceutical researcher, including six years at Novo Nordisk, where she specialised in and led research on blood sugar, diabetes and inflammation – and she’s now sharing her expertise globally.
“In her accessible and empowering book, Sams explains how the naturally occurring GLP-1 hormone works in the body and shares practical, everyday tips on how to activate it through nutrition and simple lifestyle tweaks to transform readers’ health, knowledge and outlook. This powerful hormone can not only help to achieve and maintain a healthy weight, but also regulate blood sugar and appetite, improve insulin sensitivity, reduce inflammation, support satiety and support natural prevention of common diseases.”
Whelan says: “An instant bestseller in Denmark, Let Your Body Do the Work is the must-have book on this subject, by the expert in the field. Inspiring, practical and important, we’re incredibly proud to be bringing Anette’s expertise to a UK audience.”
Sams said: “It should never be easier to get expensive injections than to understand our own hormones. The world needs both medication and education and I hope that this knowledge will be power for the many to help us all get in charge of our own health.”
Sams is a bestselling author and is currently professor at Copenhagen University.
