Quadrille is to publish the companion book to BBC1’s “Interior Design Masters”, set to return to screens early next year.
The popular series, hosted by Alan Carr, sees 10 interior designers compete to win a commercial contract. They are judged by former Elle Decoration editor-in-chief Michelle Ogundehin, who has provided a foreword for the book.
Sarah Lavelle, publishing director, bought world rights to Interior Design Masters: A Practical Guide to Decorating Your Home directly from Darlow Smithson Productions. The book is authored by interiors expert Joanna Thornhill, accompanied by the design contestants and judges from the show. It will publish in March 2023.
The publisher said the book “will be a beautifully illustrated, authoritative and accessible handbook, providing invaluable advice and tips to plan and decorate your living space”. It continued: “Covering every room, the book will keep an eye on budget and sustainability and is enhanced by tips and quotes from the design experts that have been judges on the show, including Abigail Ahern, Matthew Williamson and Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen. Featuring illustrated case studies of the most eye-catching and successful decors from all previous series of ’Interior Design Masters’, the book gives even more inspiration and insight into how the contestants transformed spaces with their innovative designs—so you can too."
Sophie Allen, senior commissioning editor, said: “We are thrilled to be publishing this stunning design guide. Spending more time at home in the past few years has led to a greater focus on decorating. We want our homes to feel cosy but stylish, refined but with a sense of personality, and Interior Design Masters is packed full of practical information to give you the confidence to decode your own design language and find your signature style.”
