Quadrille has acquired Vietnamese Made Easy by chef Thuy Diem Pham, owner of the multi-award winning restaurant The Little Viet Kitchen.
Commissioning editor Stacey Cleworth bought world rights from Elly James at HHB Agency. Vietnamese Made Easy will be published in September 2023.
The publisher says: “British-Vietnamese chef, Thuy Diem Pham, grew up in the Mekong Delta with her family for whom cooking was the language of love, often spending hours at a time in the kitchen. Now, many years on, from her London home with her young family, Thuy shows that while Vietnamese cuisine is all about balance and layers of flavour, it doesn’t need to be complicated and time-consuming.
“This modern cookbook includes a mouth-watering collection of simple recipes for every day, influenced by Thuy’s childhood, adapted for busy lives. With twists and shortcuts on traditional dishes and some new favourites, all the recipes are created with respect and love, revealing how you can easily prepare delicious Vietnamese-inspired dishes at home.”
Diem Pham said: “This is exactly what I hoped to achieve when I first sketched out the idea for Vietnamese Made Easy – the complexity of the cuisine tweaked and adjusted so that it can be enjoyed at home, with ease. I couldn’t be happier with how the book has turned out and genuinely feel it perfectly represents my British-Vietnamese roots.”
Cleworth commented: “We’re so proud to be publishing Thuy’s vibrant cookbook. Her thoughtful expertise and approach to cooking combined with her genuine understanding of Vietnamese cuisine mean she’s perfectly placed to share her depth of knowledge.”
James added: “Thuy is a master at making delicious Vietnamese flavours accessible for home cooks and Quadrille’s stunning vision for the book has made it a dream collaboration.”
