Oxford University Press is publishing lockdown-themed free e-book Winnie and Wilbur Stay at Home by illustrator Korky Paul today (Wednesday 13th May).
The title is available to download on the OUP home learning hub Oxford Owl for Home and across e-book platforms.
In the 41st book of the Winnie and Wilbur series, Winnie and Wilbur are staying at home. The book shows lots of situations which families in lockdown can relate to, from trying to tackle home learning to joining in with the clap for our carers and NHS staff. At first they find it difficult, but in the end they discover that staying home can be magical if you have each other.
The book also features activities you can do while staying a home, including printing the story and colouring in some of the illustrations.
Lou John, head of Reading at Home at OUP, said: "We really love this new Winnie and Wilbur story, which despite our very unusual circumstances at the moment, is full of the usual Winnie and Wilbur charm, magic and warmth. Picture books are an excellent way to explore new themes and topics and this one touches on all the things that are really relevant to children right now while they are staying at home. We think children and parents will enjoy it in equal measure; relating to these much-loved characters, sharing the story together and finishing off by colouring in the pictures!"
