Avon has signed another "gripping" thriller from Claire Allan.
Helen Huthwaite, publishing director, struck the deal for world English rights with Ger Nichol at The Book Bureau. This will take Allan’s publishing with Avon up to 2023. The new, currently untitled, book will be a dark and twisty story about a mother who is discovered bloodied and hysterical, with no memory of what has become of her four-year-old daughter.
Allan said: "I’m delighted to be working with the team at Avon for a seventh thriller, and very much looking forward to seeing public reaction to both The Nurse (Avon) and my subsequent title. I have very much enjoyed working with Phoebe Morgan, and latterly Helen Huthwaite as my editor and look forward to working with Thorne Ryan while Helen is on parental leave and creating another unforgettable read."
Nichol added: "Claire’s latest novel The Nurse is one of the most heart stopping and gripping novels I have ever read so I can’t wait to see the ambitious plans the wonderful team at Avon have up their sleeves for the publication of The Nurse and Claire’s new novel to follow."
Thorne Ryan, publishing director, commented: "I am so delighted that Helen Huthwaite acquired another novel from Claire before her parental leave. The Nurse is such a brilliantly written, heart-in-mouth rollercoaster of a reading experience that I know readers are going to devour, and I know that this next book from Claire will be just as brilliant. The whole Avon team can’t wait to work to work with Claire to take her publishing to even greater heights!"
