Avon Books has acquired two more saga novels from author Jane Holland, writing under the pseudonym Betty Walker.
Lucy Frederick, editor, won world English rights for the series from Alison Bonomi at LBA Literacy Agency. This deal will take Walker’s publishing with Avon up to 2023.
The deal sees two new instalments of the fan favourite Cornish Girls series. The first book, Courage for the Cornish Girls, follows Lily, Violet and Demelza as they strive to help the war effort in a story of courage, hope and love through adversity.
“I’m thrilled to have signed with the fantastic team at Avon again and to be bringing more Cornish Girls sagas to my readers," said Walker. It’s a genuine delight to be working with such a professional team who really know their market.”
“It has been the greatest pleasure watching readers fall head over heels for the Cornish Girls in the same way we did here at Avon,” said Frederick. “This is a series about hope, love, loss, courage and the strength to carry on throughout the darkest of days, and Betty brings all of this to life through the wonderful friendships and relationships she crafts for her characters. It’s a joy to work with her on these novels and we couldn’t be more delighted to have another two Cornish Girls adventures on the way.”
