Watkins Media has created a new marketing and publicity department across its Adult Trade division, which will bring together staff from across five imprints into one department.
The new department, which will encompass Watkins (MBS), Nourish (cookery), Angry Robot (SFF), Datura (crime fiction), and Repeater (popular culture, philosophy), will be lead by Caroline Lambe who has been promoted to head of marketing and publicity (Adult Trade). Lambe previously served as publicity manager at Angry Robot Books.
She said: "Leading the newly unified marketing and publicity team at Watkins Media is an incredibly exciting prospect. Having built my career across non-fiction, literary fiction and the vibrant world of genre publishing at Angry Robot, I’m eager to bring this diverse experience to this new team, championing the incredible books and authors across all five of Watkins Media’s Adult Trade imprints alongside some of the best M&P people I know. By uniting our expertise and resources, we will be able to create more impactful and innovative campaigns that will benefit all of our imprints and, most importantly, our authors. I can’t wait to see what we achieve together."
As part of the creation of the new department, a number of members of staff has also been promoted. Amy Portsmouth has been appointed as senior marketing executive, stepping up from campaigns executive at Angry Robot Books.
She said: "I am delighted to continue my growth and development at Watkins, and I’m eager to broaden my marketing expertise into the non-fiction sector. My time at Angry Robot Books has been invaluable in shaping me into a strong and award-winning marketer, and I’m ready to embrace this next level of opportunity."

April Northall will take on the role of junior marketing and publicity executive, previously holding the position of publishing assistant at Angry Robot Books.
She said: "I’m delighted to be part of the newly-established marketing and publicity department at Watkins; it is a greatly welcomed opportunity to be able to work with a wider range of exciting titles and authors, now to include the boundless world of non-fiction. I look forward to collaborating with all members of our brand new team to bring the very best of Watkins to readers everywhere."
