Constable & Robinson commissioning editor Leo Hollis bought a history of an Native American warrior tribe, Empire of the Summer Moon: Quanah Parker and the Rise and Fall of the Comanche Nation by S C Gwynne. Hollis acquired UK and Commonwealth rights excluding Canada from Caspain Dennis at Abner Stein.
The publisher said: "This book will leave dust and blood on your jeans--it is the gripping tale of the rise and fall of the Comanches, the most powerful Indian tribe in American history." Constable will publish Empire of the Summer Moon as a B format paperback in summer 2011.
Hollis also bought So You Think You Know About Britain: the Surprising Truth about Modern Britain by Danny Dorling. The "anatomy of contemporary Britain", has geographer Dorling "dissecting the nation and revealing unexpected truths about the way we live today, contrary to what you might
read in the news".
Hollis acquired world rights directly from the author. C&R will publish So you Think You Know About Britain in April 2011 as a B format paperback.
