Barbara Taylor Bradford will follow up her classic novel A Woman of Substance with two new novels, as part of a new four-book deal signed with publisher HarperCollins.
Publishing director Lynne Drew signed the deal with Robert Bradford for British Commonwealth (excluding Canada) and translation rights for an undisclosed sum. "Working with a legendary storyteller like Barbara is an inspiration - millions of fans around the world love her writing and we are delighted to have these new novels to take out to them," said Drew.
The first book of the deal, Breaking the Rules, will be published in autumn 2009 and follows on from A Woman of Substance. It will coincide with HarperCollins publishing a special 30th anniversary edition of the book, which will be released with a new foreword. Breaking the Rules is about M, a struggling model in New York with a dark secret.
According to HarperCollins, Taylor Bradford has sold more than 81 million copies in more than 40 languages in over 40 countries.
