The Bookshop Band is set to embark on its summer tour, playing over 20 gigs at independent bookshops, literature and music festivals in the UK.
The band's three musicians, Ben Please, Poppy Pitt and Beth Porter, will visit the Yellow Lighted Bookshop in Tetbury, Wallingford Bookshop in Oxon, Westwood Books in Cumbria and the Rossiter Bookshop in Monmoth, among others, starting from 10th June.
The band will play from a collection of over 90 songs based on books ranging from historical novels such as Andrew Miller's Pure and Hilary Mantel's Bring up the Bodies to classics like Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland.
Poppy Pitt said: "We will be joined en route by some very special guest authors, including bestselling debut novelist Rachel Joyce, and a few other surprises. The tour coincides with, and is generously supported by, Independent Booksellers' Week (29th June 6th July) the annual celebration of independent bookshops around the UK."
The band's fifth album is due for release later this year.
