Quercus has made three new appointments in its communications department including Bookouture’s Myrto Kalavrezou starting as senior publicity manager.
Khadisha Thomas has joined the marketing department as marketing executive, six months after she won a FBA New Voices scheme and Ayo Okojie has joined publicity as press officer, transferring from the same role at Head of Zeus.
Next month Kalavrezou will leave her campaigns manager role at Bookouture to begin as senior publicity manager on a fixed-term contract covering Corinna Zifko’s secondment to John Murray Press. Myrto will work on translated fiction as well as some general non-fiction and fiction.
The marketing and publicity departments are run by Ella Horne, marketing director, and Elizabeth Masters, publicity director, under communications director Hannah Robinson.
Robinson said: “I’m pleased to welcome Khadisha, Ayo and Myrto to Quercus. They each bring with them a different set of skills and experience to enrich our incredible teams. In my 10 years at Quercus I don’t think we’ve ever had such a wide breadth of experience across the publicity and marketing departments and I’m looking forward to what we will be able to achieve in 2024.”
Thomas said: "I have always admired the Quercus list, so I am excited to be a part of their successful team, working on the marketing campaigns for a host of amazing diverse authors and books."
Okojie said: "I am looking forward to contributing to the award-winning success of the Quercus team, creating campaigns for its exciting and diverse range of authors across literary and commercial fiction and non-fiction. After two years at Head of Zeus, working with brilliant authors and colleagues, I am excited to start a new chapter within Hachette showcasing their incredible 2024 list."
Kalavrezou said: "I am delighted to be joining Quercus and the MacLehose Press team, whose publishing I have long admired. It is such an exciting time to be working on translated literature and I can’t wait to spotlight our incredible authors from around the world."
