Puffin has revealed that a new Wimpy Kid book, the sixth in Jeff Kinney's series, will be published globally in the autumn. Exact publication date and the title of the book are not yet available and content will be embargoed until publication.
The new story will have a winter theme as the Heffley family find themselves snowed in and having to confront their greatest challenge—each other.
The fifth book in the series, Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Ugly Truth, published in November 2010, was top of the children's book chart on publication. Nearly nine million Diary of a Wimpy Kid books have been sold in the UK and more than 50 million books are in print in the United States and Canada, according to the publisher.
The second spin-off film "Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules" is released in UK cinemas on 27th May and Puffin has launched a Wimpy Kid Wednesday promotion for 6th July.
Further promotions leading up to the release will be announced.
