Penguin Random House US has appointed two London-based UK sales executives, Thomas Glover and Samuel Bonner, formerly at Amberley Publishing and Titan Books, respectively, to grow sales of its US titles in the UK.
Glover and Bonner were recruited to form a local team representing PRH US core imprint and PRH Publishing Services client publications in the UK, alongside its existing UK distributors.
Glover, previously key account and South East sales manager for Amberley Publishing, joins PRH as UK sales manager, effective immediately. He has also held sales positions at W.W. Norton and Elsevier. He will report to New York-based Christina Frey, associate director, UK and Commonwealth Sales.
Bonner, who was previously a sales co-ordinator at Titan Books, and prior to that, at Indepenpress, joins PRH as UK sales and marketing co-ordinator. He also reports to Frey.
“Sales of US titles in the UK continue to grow and establishing a local team—in coordination with our UK sister company—will serve our publishers and authors well in this critical marketplace,” said a PRH US spokesperson.
Cyrus Kheradi, senior vice president, director, International Sales & Marketing at PRH US, added: "Messrs. Glover and Bonner will work alongside the company’s existing network of UK distributors to expand the sale of US publications to the book trade, mass retailers, and non-traditional channels."
Penguin Random House’s current distributors include Penguin Random House UK, Publishers Group UK, Turnaround Publisher Services, Guild of Master Craftsmen Publications, Melia Publishing Services, Bravo, Authentic Media, and Deep Books.
