Chantal Noel has been appointed group rights director for Penguin Random House UK, after 11 years as rights director for Penguin.
Noel, who takes up her new role with immediate effect, started her career at Boxtree when it was a small independent TV and media tie-in publisher, and moved across to Pan Macmillan in 1996, where she was Rights Director for nine years, working across all of the adult trade imprints from Picador to Macmillan and Pan. She moved to Penguin in 2008 to lead the adult and children’s rights teams in growing its international rights business for established authors as well as debut writers, across the range of Penguin’s publishing.
PRH UK c.e.o. Tom Weldon said: “Over the past 11 years Chantal has done a tremendous job in leading the rights function across the four Penguin publishing divisions. Her extensive rights experience and expertise, her energy and commitment, and her impressive leadership skills, will be key in steering Penguin Random House UK to continued success in maximising the rights potential of our authors.”
