Pinwheel, the children’s novelty publisher and packager, will launch a new picture book list at the Bologna Book Fair later this month. The company plans to produce eight picture book titles a year for the UK trade and coedition markets.
Pinwheel focuses on children’s novelty and book- plus products, mainly non-fiction for five to nine-year-olds. The move into picture books means that its parent company, Alligator Books, which acquired Pinwheel in 2007, now covers mass market to high-quality trade titles.
The picture books will get their first airing at this year’s Bologna and will launch into the UK trade this summer. Christine Swift, consultant commercial director at Pinwheel, said: "It’s a ready-made list that we will be showing to customers across Europe and to countries such as South Korea. Pinwheel can offer high-quality products at competitive prices."
