Penguin Life is publishing TV doctor Dr Rangan Chatterjee’s second book - tackling how we deal with stress.
The Stress Solution: The 4 Steps to Reset Body, Mind, Relationships and Purpose is earmarked for trade paperback release on 27th December 2018, priced £16.99. Venetia Butterfield, publishing director of Penguin Life, Viking and Portfolio, acquired UK and Commonwealth rights (excluding Canada) from Will Francis at Janklow & Nesbit.
Commenting on the acquisition, Butterfield cited figures that 85% of adults experience stress regularly and the World Health Organisation see stress as "the health epidemic of the 21st century".
"This book feels more urgent than ever before and I believe that the inspiring, practical and easy-to-follow advice will help everyone to live a more stress-free, happier life," she said.
Dr Chatterjee, known for his role on the BBC One TV series "Doctor in the House", said: "The way we’re living our modern lifestyles is causing us a lot of problems and stress is the biggest health issue I see in my clinic and I want to combat this. Many people don’t realise that by implementing small changes to their routine can reduce or completely eradicate stress. For example, there’s a lot of science behind the importance of purpose. For me, it’s the most crucial pillar in the book as filling your life with meaning is the single most important thing you can do to be more calm and content."
The Stress Solution follows his first book, The 4 Pillar Plan, and his recently launched podcast, "Feel Better, Live More", which has had over 750,000 downloads.
