Penguin acquires Yukon river debut at auction

Penguin has acquired a book from what it says is "one of the UK’s most exciting new voices" in Adam Weymouth.

Helen Conford at Penguin Press acquired UK & Commonwealth rights at auction to The Kings of the Yukon from Sophie Lambert at Conville & Walsh, with sales to Random House Canada and Little, Brown in the US.

The book is about Alaska’s Yukon river and the salmon who return to it. It is described as "a story of cultural and ecological erosion, filtered through the author’s personal experience travelling the river, and the lives of those he meets en route".

The book will be published in the UK by Allen Lane in Spring 2018.
