Nick Hern Books has become a new content partner for the Drama Online platform.
Nick Hern Books’ list of plays will be added to Drama Online’s current catalogue of more than 1,000 plays from Bloomsbury Methuen Drama, Arden Shakespeare and Faber and Faber.
Matt Applewhite, managing director of Nick Hern Books, said: “Drama Online rises magnificently to the challenges and opportunities of the digital age, and we’re delighted to join forces with Bloomsbury and Faber and Faber in making the very best dramatic writing available online and on demand around the world.”
Drama Online, which was launched in March 2013, is an online research tool for drama and literature students, professors and teachers with a fully cross-searchable format.
Jenny Ridout, editorial director at Bloomsbury Drama, commented on the addition to the Drama Online library, saying: “We are delighted to have the Nick Hern Books list join Drama Online. It will add a strong and significant body of playwriting talent to an already large and impressive collection.”
Nick Hern Books is a leading theatre publisher and performing rights agent, with over 1,000 plays and theatre books in print. Its list contains some of the foremost current playwrights including Howard Brenton, Jez Butterworth and Caryl Churchill. It also publishes many classic plays in modern translations, alongside definitive editions of the works of Terence Rattigan and Eugene O’Neill.
Content from the Nick Hern Books list will be available on Drama Online from January 2015.
