The Booksellers Association (BA) has appointed Temi Ayorinde as its new conference and events manager.
In her new role, Ayorinde is responsible for organising and co-ordinating face-to-face and digital events, including the BA Conference, which this year takes place at Jury’s Inn, Hinckley Island on 1st to 2nd October 2023, as well as national conferences in Ireland and Scotland with the planned addition of a Welsh Conference in 2023.
She will work alongside the whole BA team, and report to Alan Staton, director of strategy and communications at the BA. Ayorinde takes over from former conference and events manager Naomi Gane, who has now left the business.
Before joining the BA in January 2023, Ayorinde completed a degree in events management. She said: “I’m delighted to have joined the BA team and look forward to meeting as many members as possible at events throughout the year. I enjoy both the versatility and spontaneity of this line of work, whether I’m planning an event or co-ordinating it on the day."
Staton said: “We’re delighted that Temi has joined us. She brings a wealth of experience in events management to the BA’s ever-expanding events programme.”
