Indie publisher Michael O’Mara Books is donating £100,000 to The Big Give’s Green Match Fund to mark this year’s Earth Day (22nd April).
The Green Match Fund is a fundraising drive for environmental charities, running from 22nd–29th April. Last year, the campaign raised more than £1.8m for charities including Client Earth, Friends of the Earth and Surfers Against Sewage.
Lesley O’Mara, managing director at Michael O’Mara, said: “We are committed to supporting environmental charities and now print a logo with a link to the charities we support on all our books to help spread the word. We are proud to be champions of the Big Give Green Match Fund appeal this year.”
The publisher has recently published two big environmental titles, Go Toxic Free by environmental journalist Anna Turns, and Be the Ultimate Friend of the Earth by eco expert and BBC broadcaster Lucy Siegle.
The publisher said: “Both thoroughly researched yet accessible, they encourage readers to do what they can for the planet, from replacing cleaning products that cause chemical pollution to lobbying governments and corporations to enact change.”
