Lonely Planet's Richard Samson dies

Lonely Planet general manager for Asia Pacific Richard Samson has died today [18th March], following a battle with a terminal illness.

Samson moved to Lonely Planet's Melbourne head office in June 2008, after working in Lonely Planet's London offices as sales director for EMEA. He became general manager in January 2009.

He worked in the publishing industry for many years, including at Oxford University Press, the Octopus Publishing Group and Chrysalis.
