The owner of the Kensal Rise Library building has said it is still open to proposals to turn it into a community-run library, despite it being put on the open market.
All Souls College, Oxford, which owns the historic building, has listed the property with Cluttons on an “all enquiries” basis.
The Friends of Kensal Rise Library have been fighting to turn the facility into a community library since it was closed by Brent Council, and are trying to raise £70,000 for the first year’s costs.
They have currently raised more than £34,000, and will submit their proposal on September 7th.
A spokesman for All Souls said they would review all submissions on that date, and the Friends would be welcome to bid for a lease or ownership of the building.
