The Roald Dahl Story Company has hired Katie Price, currently director of licensing at Hachette Children’s Group, as its new head of books.
Price, who joins the company on 7th May, will be responsible for driving the performance of publishing at retail in conjunction with key external trade partners, said the Roald Dahl Story Company, which manages Dahl’s copyrights and trademarks.
Strategy director Gideon Simeloff said: "We are incredibly pleased and fortunate to have Katie join our team. She is an extremely experienced manager of children’s publishing brands, both as a brand owner and as a publisher. She has great experience across many geographical markets and publishing formats and will be invaluable in driving innovation within publishing."
Price, who will report to Simeloff, added: “I am extremely excited and proud to be joining the Roald Dahl Story Company as Head of Books. Roald Dahl’s powers as a storyteller are unrivalled in their ability to engage young readers all over the world, and from all backgrounds. It’s a real privilege and responsibility to be working on new formats and genres for the readers of the future.”
Price replaces Pete Selby, who joins WHSmith as head of books this month.
