Isabella Depiazzi has been promoted to rights director of Granta Publications, while Margaux Vialleron has also been permanently hired to the rights team.
Depiazzi joined Granta in 2017 and has been shortlisted for Rights Professional of the Year at The British Book Awards. She was formerly senior rights and acquisitions manager, leading Granta’s audio policy with a role in the development and implementation of rights strategies. Before joining Granta, Depiazzi worked for an audiobook publisher and a literary agency.
Meanwhile, Vialleron joins Granta on a permanent, part-time basis as senior rights manager, having been employed as a maternity cover for a year, and following her experience at David Higham Associates.

She will be responsible for selling Granta’s translation rights into France, Greece, the Netherlands, the Nordics, Turkey and the Arabic market, and will take the lead on Granta’s audio programme in both its Granta Audio Editions and its sub-licensing programme.
Managing director Bella Lacey said: “I am delighted to announce the promotion of Isabella Depiazzi who has led Granta’s right department with strategic insight, drive and aplomb, to achieve our best ever rights results. While publishing is always a team venture, the impressive developments in Granta’s rights programme are a testament to her organisational excellence and industry.
“I’m also thrilled that Margaux Vialleron has joined Granta permanently on a part-time basis, after her excellent maternity cover. Having two senior heads working on our rights strategy will only enhance our programme and I’m excited to see the rights department develop in the years ahead.”
