Avon Books, an imprint of HarperCollins, has appointed Natasha Harding as commissioning editor.
Harding is currently editor of fiction at Pan Macmillan having joined the company in 2010.
She will join Avon on 30th October and report to senior commissioning editor, Helen Huthwaite.
Harding said: “After a fantastic five years at Pan Macmillan, I shall be saying a fond farewell to a truly wonderful list of authors and an incredible publishing team. However, I have long admired the super talented and dynamic team at Avon and I’m thrilled to be joining them at such an exciting time, as their list of commercial fiction goes from strength to strength.”
Huthwaite said: “We are absolutely delighted to welcome Natasha to the Avon team as we have admired her work from afar for a long time now. She has great commercial prowess and a keen eye for talent. Coupled with her tenacity and her passion for the books she publishes, we couldn’t think of a better addition to the Avon team.”
Editorial director at Pan Macmillan, Trisha Jackson said the company was "devastated" to be losing Harding. "She’s a very talented editor and much loved by everyone who works with her – colleagues and authors alike," Jackson said. "I’m sure she has a glittering future ahead of her.”
Avon publishes commercial fiction including novelists C.L. Taylor, Paul Finch, Alexandra Burt, Claudia Carroll, Julia Williams, Rachel Wells and Kitty Neale.
