Drew Hunt, currently fiction buyer at Foyles, is joining Canongate as part of the sales team.
Hunt will take on the role of key account manager in September. He will be based in London and report into sales director Neal Price.
“From the brilliant and considered prose of Amy Liptrot, to the literary acrobatics of Kevin Barry, I have long been an admirer of Canongate,” said Hunt. “Few publishers exhibit such energy, ingenuity and passion for their books, and I’m thrilled to be in the position of conveying this enthusiasm to the wider world. It’s a hugely exciting moment for me and I can’t wait to join their superb and talented team.”
Canongate has also made internal promotions within its sales team. Charlotte Brady, currently sales coordinator, is promoted to international sales executive, reporting into Steph Scott. And Jo Lord is promoted, with immediate effect, from audio and online manager to head of online and audio.
Hunt’s departure from Foyles comes several months after Simon Heafield, head of marketing, left the company. He moved to Granta Publications as marketing manager in March.
