Faber has signed a second novel from Owen Sheers, which has already been sold in eight territories worldwide.
Sarah Savitt at Faber signed UK and Commonwealth rights in I Saw A Man from Zoë Waldie at Rogers, Coleridge & White.
Rights have already been sold to Nan Talese – Doubleday in the US, Doubleday in Canada, and in Holland, Denmark, Spain, France, Germany and Israel. The book will be published in May 2015.
The book moves from London to New York and the deserts of Nevada, following Michael Turner, who bonds with the family who lives next door after the sudden loss of his wife. However, a catastrophic event changes everything, leaving Michael bearing a secret he must keep at all costs.
Savitt said: "I Saw A Man is a novel that will haunt you as well as make you think, and I cannot wait to get it into readers' hands. It will be a major publication for us next year."
Sheers lives in Wales and is a novelist, poet and playwright. His first novel, Resistance (Faber), was translated into ten languages and turned into a film.
