Dan Mucha has been appointed as the new group c.e.o. of online second-hand book retailer World of Books Group, following the recent departure of Graham Bell.
Micha took up the new role on 1st March. He was formerly director and general manager of books for Amazon in the UK and has worked in the books industry for over 10 years, initially leading the Kindle education business at Amazon in the US and then Amazon’s physical books business in the UK. More recently, he held non-executive board positions at both Waterstones and Barnes & Noble.
Bell remains with World of Books as non-executive director on the group board.
On behalf of the group board, chairman Niall Wass said: “We are all excited that Dan is joining to lead the company into its next growth chapter. We conducted an extensive search and Dan was the stand-out candidate – as you can see from his profile. But what you can’t see is that he is a really thoughtful and authentic guy who the board and I believe will match the company’s values. Welcome Dan and thank you Graham!”
