Lucy Brem is joining the Pan division of Pan Macmillan, where she will become part of the Macmillan and Pan Fiction team as editor.
Brem started her publishing career in sales at Orion, working mainly across the supermarket accounts on a wide variety of commercial titles. She made the switch to editorial in spring 2021 and has worked on a number of Sunday Times bestselling authors throughout her career, including Anton Du Beke and Cathy Bramley. Brem has also been acquiring a select number of titles for her own list.
She takes up her new role on 27th February and will report to Pan Fiction publishing director Francesca Pathak. Brem will be working on Macmillan and Pan brand authors, alongside their publishers, including Danielle Steele and Lucinda Riley, as well as commissioning her own titles in the commercial fiction and TikTok space.
Pathak said: “I am thrilled Lucy is joining our team. With her brand author experience and her diligent and creative spirit, she is going to be a fantastic addition to Pan’s Fiction team at a time when we are incredibly excited about our future. Her remit to grow our commercial fiction list is a key part of our strategy, and one I’m delighted to work with Lucy to achieve".
Brem added: “I am sad to be leaving my wonderful colleagues and authors at Orion, but am thrilled to be joining the brilliant fiction team at Pan. I can’t wait to get to work on their phenomenal brand fiction, as well as acquiring some fabulous commercial fiction for the list."
