Random House parent company Bertelsmann has created a new group management committee (GMC), which will advise the executive board on corporate strategy and development, with Random House Group UK c.e.o. Gail Rebuck to be a member.
Thomas Rabe, current chief financial officer and designated c.e.o. of Bertelsmann, said: "The diverse and extensive managerial experience from various businesses, markets and Group-wide roles will be interlinked in the GMC to more effectively advance Bertelsmann's further development."
He added: "I am particularly delighted that the GMC will include several female executives who have been successful within the Group for years, and six different nationalities. In the future Bertelsmann will give more weight to the theme of diversity and all its facets."
The GMC will be effective from 1st January 2012. Alongside Rebuck on the committee will be Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland c.e.o. Anke Schaferkordt, Nicolas de Tavernost; chairman of the management board of French broadcaster Groupe M6, Fernando Carro; c.e.o. of the club, and direct marketing businesses; and Annabelle Long, c.e.o. of Bertelsmann Corporate in China and managing director of the Bertelsmann Asia Investments fund.
Bertelsmann head of corporate communications, Karin Schlautmann, and Immanuel Hermreck, corporate HR chief will also be on the GMC.
