Pan Macmillan has cast actors Richard Armitage, Emily Watson and Georgia Maguire for the audio version of upcoming thriller A Nearly Normal Family, which the publisher scooped at auction during last year’s London Book Fair.
The psychological suspense novel by Swedish writer Mattias Edwardsson, bought by publishing director Vicki Mellor in a four-way battle, will be published in e-book and audio on 25th June, with the hardback edition following on 11th July.
Armitage, best known for “The Hobbit” and “Oceans 8”, is an audio veteran and plays the part of Adam, with BAFTA winner Watson and “Patrick Melrose” actor Maguire as his wife and daughter Stella respectively.
The book tells the story of 19-year-old Stella, accused of the brutal murder of a much older man, and is told through the family’s three different perspectives.
The trio have also recorded short lines in character to be used in the book’s marketing campaign.
