Anova Books has acquired the rights to a new series of children's books, The Flossie Crums Baking Adventures, which encourages parents and children to bake.
Ben Cameron, associate publisher of Pavilion Children’s Books, bought world rights from Araminta Whitley at Lucas Alexander Whitley.
The books, written by Helen Nathan and illustrated by Catherine Black are children's stories incorporating different recipes. The first book in the series, The Fairies Cupcake Ball, is to be published in February 2010.
Cameron said: "We are delighted to be involved with this wonderful project which is all about interaction between parents and children. The books will combine imaginative stories with delicious recipes in an innovative way that both parents and children will enjoy."
Anova has teamed up with McDougalls Flour for a marketing campaign which will see the character of Flossie Crums appearing on over 3mn packets of flour from January 2010. Further branded products will follow in 2010 including a specially designed ‘Flossie Crums Baking Box’ containing baking ingredients and a Flossie Crums baking activity booklet.
The Flossie Crums concept was created by former Claridges Chef Helen Nathan as a way to encourage parents and children to have fun cooking together.
