Amazon extends self-publishing e-books platform

<p>Amazon.com has extended its self-publishing platform for e-books to authors and publishers around the world.</p><p>The Digital Text Platform allows authors and publishers to release books in English, French and German through the Kindle store. Previously, this service was only available in the United States. </p><p>Authors and publishers receive 35% of the list price from Amazon as royalties.</p><p>Russ Grandinetti, vice president of Kindle Content, said: &quot;We are excited to make the self-service Kindle Digital Text Platform available to authors and publishers around the world. Now any content owner can offer English, German or French-language books to the fast-growing audience of Kindle owners around the globe.&quot;<br /></p>
