Aeronwy Thomas, the only daughter of Dylan and Caitlin Thomas, died in hospital on Monday after battling leukaemia at the age of 66. Thomas' memoir My Father’s Places is to be published by Constable & Robinson on 10th August.
Leo Hollis, commissioning editor at Constable, said: "For all of us, working with Aeronwy was a wonderful experience. She was a writer of immense power, generosity and a remarkable weaver of poetry and prose. The memoir stands as a tremendous memorial to a fascinating life. We will miss her enormously."
Constable described My Father’s Places as a deeply moving portrait of Thomas' childhood at the family home at Laugharne, as well as an insightful portrait of her parents and the origins and the legacy of father’s poetry. She worked on the book throughout her illness. Publication coincides with the release of Thomas' new collection of poetry Shadows and Shades, by Poetry Monthly Press.
