The BBC1 adaptation of Henning Mankell’s Wallander (Vintage) series scooped one of the biggest prizes at last night’s (6th June) BAFTAs, with actor Kenneth Branagh taking home the leading actor gong.

Channel 4 satricial comedy “The Thick of It” scooped three Baftas, while Melvyn Bragg took home an Academy Fellowship for his work on the “South Bank Show”.
