Pan Macmillan has acquired the autobiography of Kirk Norcross, a star of "The Only Way is Essex".
Editorial director Ingrid Connell acquired world English excluding USA rights from Andrew Lownie in association with Norcross' manager Adam Muddle at AM Concepts UK.
Norcross was one of the original cast members of the ITV2 hit show. He will tell about his childhood, growing up in poverty on one of Essex's toughest estates. Reconciling with his father at age 18, now a millionaire, "thrust him into a very different world", according to the publisher.
Kirk said: "A lot of people think they know my story. Now once and for all I am telling what really went on. I am really pleased to be working with Pan Macmillan and can’t wait to be out meeting my fans and signing copies of the book."
Connell said: "We’re all excited to be working with Kirk. I was impressed by how genuine and open he is. He has a powerful story to tell that will surprise his many fans."
Essex Boy: My Story will be published on 25th April.
