The National Portrait Gallery is publishing an illustrated book to commemorate the life of 1960s supermodel and icon Twiggy.
The publisher has acquired world rights to Twiggy: A Life in Photographs from Caroline Michel at PFD. The book is being published to coincide with the model's 60th birthday in September, and will be produced as a hardback, priced £20.
The publication also coincides with an exhibition of images of the model who came to represent swinging London in the 1960s.
Head of publications at the National Portrait Gallery Celia Joicey said: "Twiggy has worked with leading portrait photographers from Cecil Beaton and Bert Stern in the 1960s to Steven Meisel in the 1990s and Annie Leibovitz in the 21st century."
As well as photographs, the book will contain cuttings and memorabilia from Twiggy's own private collection, alongside the model's own thoughts and memories.
