Index on Censorship editor Jo Glanville has been appointed as the new director of English PEN, succeeding Jonathan Heawood.
Glanville will take up the post on 3rd September.
Gillian Slovo, president of English PEN, said: "We’re delighted to have chosen Jo Glanville as our new director. She brings exciting plans about English PEN’s future and we are confident that she will continue the stability and dynamism of the organisation, building on Jonathan's excellent work."
Heawood steps down from the post in June to take up a new role as director of programmes at human rights foundation the Sigrid Rausing Trust.
