Choc Lit has acquired its first novel by an Australian author, with Beverley Eikli winning the competition to be published by the romance specialist.
Eikili was announced as the winner via the website of the Australian Romance Readers' Association (ARRA), with Choc Lit acquiring world rights in her book, Regency romance The Reluctant Bride, directly from the author.
The competition to find an Australian author to sign up ran for several months, with the winner selected by Choc Lit's tasting panel, comprised of independent readers and editors.
Choc Lit is distributed in Australia by Alpa Books. Director Andrew Easton said: "Alpa Books are delighted to be involved in the launch of Beverley's new book. Since Choc Lit first came to Australia we have been looking forward to promoting an Australian author and hope that Beverley is the first of many local authors published by Choc Lit."
