Faber has signed a multi-year deal with digital revenue management service provider RoyaltyShare to track its e-book revenue. The independent's digital service Faber Factory has also signed up to the deal.
RoyaltyShare's Digital Advantage for E-books platform enables publishers to check more efficiently e-book sales and revenues across 30 different retailers, supporting both agency and retail models. The company is already used by Hachette Book Group and Bloomsbury USA.
Simon Blacklock, head of Factory sales at Faber Factory, said: "With the explosive growth of e-book transactions, combined with the launch of our Faber Factory service, we recognised the need for a technology partner to help manage our digital sales channel. RoyaltyShare's platform has radically simplified the processing of our revenue data, allowing for timely, accurate reporting both internally and to our authors and publisher partners."
Bob Kohn, chairman and c.e.o. of RoyaltyShare said: "By using RoyaltyShare's services, Faber is completely automating the management of its sales reporting, freeing up IT and management resources to focus on creating, marketing and selling e-books."
The RoyaltyShare technology was developed for the music industry five years ago. Kohn confirmed that the company was
currently in talks with other UK publishers.
Faber Factory, which provides text digitisation, digital distribution, free storage and sales reporting, was launched at Frankfurt Book Fair 2010, with 18 publishers, other than Faber, signed up at launch.
