Sphere has appointed a new commissioning editor for crime and thriller fiction.
Jade Chandler, previously editor of trade fiction at Orion, has been appointed to the role of commissioning editor at Sphere, taking a lead in backlist reissues for the imprint as well as focusing on crime and thrillers. She will report to editorial director, Catherine Burke, and joins the company on 9th January.
Chandler said: "Working at Orion has been a brilliant experience and while I will be sad to leave an excellent and supportive group of colleagues, the opportunity to take on a new commissioning role at Little, Brown was just too tempting to pass up. I am really thrilled to be joining the Sphere team in the New Year."
Meanwhile, junior editor Manpreet Grewal has stepped up to be junior commissioning editor for commercial women's fiction, reporting to editorial director, Rebecca Saunders.
Sphere associate publisher Dan Mallory said: "With these exciting new appointments, Sphere editorial is stronger than ever. Jade and Manpreet are brilliant, dynamic talents who distinguished themselves in their previous roles, and they're poised to contribute powerfully to Sphere in 2012 and beyond."
