Profile Books is set to publish "strategy and power expert" and author of The Laws of Human Nature (2018) Robert Greene’s "eagerly awaited" new book.
Before he retired last month, Andrew Franklin acquired UK Commonwealth, excluding Canada, and audio rights to The Law of the Sublime from Michael Carlise at Inkwell Management. Profile Books will publish simultaneously with Penguin Random House in the US this November.
In Green’s new book, he explores the Sublime, an experience that lifts us out of ourselves and confronts us with the marvels of the world. The publisher added that "the Sublime connects us to the immense forces in the universe, to the inner worlds of other people, and even to other species, lifting us out of ourselves and giving us the dimensions and depths we yearn for in our lives".
The synopsis continues: "Greene offers a roadmap for how to bring ourselves closer to the Sublime and, by drawing from science, mythology, history, the arts and nature, he shows us the incredible powers we can unlock by liberating ourselves from the constraints of contemporary life.
"Alongside awe-inspiring stories of sublime experiences, including death-defying encounters, astounding discoveries and radical transformations of consciousness, Greene offers us exercises and meditations to connect with the Sublime that is all around us. This is another masterwork from Robert Greene that is an essential text for anyone in search of life’s deeper meaning."
Rebecca Gray, Profile Books CEO, said: "Andrew Franklin acquired Robert Greene’s 48 Laws of Power in 1999 and he has been one of our strongest international bestsellers ever since. Distinctive and original, Robert Greene reads widely and undertakes deep research. This book once again proves him a thought-leader who offers his readers direction and nourishment."
The Law of the Sublime will be published on 10th November 2026 in hardback, e-book and audiobook.
