Pan Macmillan has acquired Arsenal: The Inside Story of Arsenal’s Rebirth under Mikel Arteta by Sam Dean, the Daily Telegraph’s Arsenal correspondent.
Mike Harpley, non-fiction publisher, acquired world English language rights from David Luxton at DLA, for publication on the Macmillan imprint in hardback, e-book and audio on 16th October 2026.
The description reads: “Arsenal Football Club is one of the biggest institutions in the sporting world, with a global fanbase and a rich history of success. Yet over the past two decades, their story has been one of in-fighting and underachievement. That has changed under the transformative leadership of former captain Mikel Arteta, who has just guided Arsenal to their first Premier League title in 22 years, as well as to the brink of victory in the Champions League.”
The book “takes the reader inside this historic 2025/26 campaign, identifying the key moments and revealing the intimate details that fuelled the club’s triumphant title charge – marking the culmination of a seven-year project under a manager who has reshaped an entire club in his own image,” the publisher says, with Dean “expanding on the defining themes of the rebuild.”
Harpley said: “Sam Dean is a brilliant journalist with unrivalled access inside the club. Arteta is currently one of the most talked-about managers in world football – we are excited to publish the definitive account of his era.”
Dean commented: “Arsenal’s rebuild under Arteta has been one of the most captivating stories in English football. It has been a privilege to report on every step of this journey for the Daily Telegraph, and I am now hugely excited to be writing this book.”
