Pan Fiction lures Soraya Lane over in 'epic and enchanting' new series
Pan Fiction has pre-empted The Lost Moonstone from bestseller Soraya Lane, the first in an "epic and enchanting" new dual-timeline series, The Gemstone Legacy.
Publishing director Katie Loughnane acquired world all-language rights to three novels from Laura Bradford at Bradford Literary Agency. The Lost Moonstone will be published by Pan Fiction in Spring 2027. New Zealander Lane was most recently published in the UK by Bookouture, with whom she signed an eight-book deal for the Lost Daughters series – seven of which have been released – three years ago.
The Pan Rights team has brokered a number of international pre-empts for the series, with "record-breaking" deals for Pan Macmillan in Germany (Droemer), the Netherlands (Oceaan Uitgevers), Denmark (Cicero), Norway (Kagge) and Finland (Otava).
The Lost Moonstone begins in "glittering 1920s Monaco", where matriarch Olympia De la Rosa is forced to abandon her daughters, leaving each girl with a unique piece of jewellery containing their individual birthstones, and a promise to one day return. But when Olympia finally comes back for her children, they are gone.
Eighty years later, London jeweller Noa Delamonte discovers a moonstone pin and an emerald ring, both bearing a mysterious symbol. This clue "connects her family to the missing De la Rosa sisters and sparks a global quest to unravel a legacy that will forever change her family’s future".
